Step one:

Start with a 781 px x 600 / #000000 background canvas.

Create a new layer.

Set the foreground color to #292940. Now select the rectangular marquee tool and create a 100 height selection at the top of the canvas, use the bucket tool to fill in the selection.



Step two:

Now were going to add details on the header so its not flat looking, first set the foreground color to #6F6FAC and background to #292940.

In a new layer and with the Polygon lasso tool draw a slanted thick box. Once the selection is on, use the reflected gradient tool. See below for visuals.

Step three:

Duplicate the gradient layer and place it next to the left of the original. Its up to you on how many pieces you want to add, on this template I added 3 piece.

Once you have the pieces in place, merge all of them and set the opacity level to around 10-50 %, the lower the better it looks.
