Step three:
  • Now lets add a shatter effect. First we have to modify the eraser brush so its shaped randomly. Set your eraser to a 13 px hard brush and add the brush shape dynamics settings found below. To access the brush presets go to windows > brushes. All you have to do now is erase to get a shatter effect your looking for.
    Brush Presets
    Shape Dynamics Size Jitter: 55%
    Control: Fade & 70
    Minimum Diameter: 11
    Angle Jitter: 9
    Control: Off
    Roundness Jitter: 35
    Control: Fade & 25
    Minimum Roundness: 23

    Step four:
  • Lets apply the same technique to a text. First type in your text in #000000.
  • Apply the same layer-styles from step 2.

    Finale:
  • Now add a shatter effect, use the same technique as step three. The more random the shatter effect looks the better it turns out.
